The exhibition " Vera Pestel . Way of Painting "
In the Yaroslavl Art Museum opened an exhibition " Vera Pestel . Way of Painting "
As the exhibitions curator Ludmila Makarova , head of exposition and exhibition department YAHM , the first time the work of the Faith Yefimovna Pestel (1887-1952) saw Yaroslavl in 1996. Then, the museum has an exhibition from the collections of Yaroslavl Art Museum , the State , " the Russian Museum " (St. Petersburg) and the historical , architectural and art museum of the "New Jerusalem." " Since that time, our collection of significantly enlarged - told LN Makarova . - Now we are proud to present only the Yaroslavl Art Museum collection . This exhibition has turned out thanks to the fruitful cooperation with a good friend of the museum and the student artist - Vyacheslav Ivanovich Pavlov , Honored Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts . "
Today in Yaroslavl 16 paintings and 50 graphic works , came to the museum from 1982 to 2010 . heiress of the artist Sophia Evgenyavna Pestel .
The creative life of Vera Pestel coincided with the political changes in Russia . She painted before and after the revolution , it had its own style , its way of creative thinking. In her youth she was actively involved in the creative unions of artists " Supremus" (1916-1917) , "Young Federation of Trade Union of painters of Moscow" (1917-1918) , " Jack of Diamonds ", " Way of Painting ." It was as if , in search of his manners to see the world around. As established in 1932, "The Union of Artists" is not entered . Protest or apathy ? This is before she closed the door to many socially comfortable life , to access to the viewer, but in the work has not stopped.
"Faith Efimovna exhibited before the revolution , and even then was among the prominent avant-garde artists , who today make up the honor and glory of our country, - says Vladimir Pavlov , - then she moved away from the avant-garde ." Pavlov helped organize a one-day solo exhibition of the artist at the Moscow House of Artists in 1973. In his view , this exhibition was of fundamental importance : they visited art historians who discovered the work of the Faith and Pestel , as they say, the ice was broken . "She was a cheerful person . We, the students , she was keeping. But did not want to identify your creativity with Bolshevism - says Vladimir Pavlov . " However , its artless work , look austere , almost like life of the Soviet people , who all gave the idea . The plot is simple , the characters - these are ordinary people from the inner circle . Not wanting to obey the canons of socialist realism , it willy- nilly, is displayed in his manner around the world . Her creative mind saw people without harsh tones through some blurry haze , no sense of accomplishment in the works , as if the artist is about to return to the picture , and maybe something else will draw . This extends the time frame . It seems that the indistinct outlines of portraits she conveys the different facets of human nature. Maybe it involves creativity and Vera Pestel ?
The exhibition will run through November 4, 2013. Come .
